400 plants later...
Mon, Mar 7, 2011
400 plants and numerous barrow-loads of builder's rubble later, our first planting project of 2011 is complete - and what gorgeous weather to enjoy it in.

Although to be frank, last week we dealt with rain, hail and biting wind. On the one day that the sun came out we were doing the shade planting - bah!

So, we have uploaded some before and after pictures to give you a feel for the work that we have done. We were working to a traditional/cottage garden brief to suit the history of the pub. The planting encompasses year-round shrub planting, a raised bed along the front of the entrance, a hot terrace border, dry shade planting and an enclosed herb garden. We cannot wait for May/June when the planting should be really taking shape. In autumn we will plant bulbs to compliment the planting throughout next winter and spring so this time next year the view will be rather more colourful!

The herb garden will fill out significantly over the coming spring and the planting combinations and patterns should give a tapestry feel to the area and deliver a wonderful aroma.

We have a great week ahead getting back into our client's gardens and giving them a spring Hello! The weather is absolutely glorious today it really is my most favourite time of year, all the anticipation of the seasons to come, the warmth of the sun, the lengthening days, ahh, bliss!

Looks like you've done an amazing job. Might have to treat me and Liv to a pub lunch there in the near future!
